The Wounded Marine Fund is an entity that was established to help wounded Marines injured in the War on Terror. Our intent is to aid as many of these heroes as our funding allows, one at a time. Our First Beneficiary is CPL Michael Fox
Michael’s Story Michael was born and raised in San Diego, CA. He is 27 years old.
Michael joined the Marines 4 years ago, wanting to serve his Country and to protect our way of life, here in the United States. On 11/15/2011 Michael’s life was forever changed. While on foot patrol in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan, Michael tripped an I.E.D. The explosion was so powerful that Michael’s legs were severed as he was launched into the air, by the blast. He also sustained severe damage to his left arm and hand. Whether or not Michael would live or die was in question for several days as he went through multiple life saving surgeries. The good news is that Michael survived and is currently undergoing intense physical therapy at San Diego’s Naval Medical Center. With the use of prosthetics, he is learning to walk again and hopes to recover partial use of his left arm. Your donation will help this hero cover expenses for items that will help him regain his independence.
